Late Rent Payments
Many of our Tenants always pay their rent on-time – We would like to take this opportunity to thank you! At Circle, we also understand that sometimes factors in our lives can contribute to Tenants being late on their rent and going into arrears. We understand that these factors can often be outside of a Tenant’s control. If you wish to discuss your rent, or are struggling to pay your rent on time, please call our Tenant Services department at 437-781-8432 ext. 2. Our Community Tenant Services Workers are committed to working with you – whether you are an RGI or Market Tenant – on a one-on-one basis to make sure that rent is paid on-time. We understand that a loss of housing is a serious and potentially dangerous outcome for a Tenant. Our goal is to work with you to maintain your tenancy.
Discounted Internet & Cable
The Rogers Connected for Success program offers discounted access to high-speed, low-cost internet and cable TV to low income households in Ontario. RGI households, as well as individuals receiving a number of income support programs are eligible for this program. To learn more and apply, visit their website at https://connectedforsuccess.ca/ontario/.
Discounted TTC & Wheel Trans
The City of Toronto’s Fair Pass program provides annual discounts of 20-35% on TTC and Wheel Trans fares to low-income adults who are receiving one of a number of income support programs, or living in RGI housing. To access this program, you must use a free PRESTO card, which the TTC can provide. For more information, check out the City’s website here.
Dorset Park Community Hub
Circle is working with the Dorset Park Community Hub to make it easier for our Scarborough Tenants to meet with our staff. Circle’s Community Tenant Services Workers (CTSWs) now have access to office space at the Hub, so if you would like to have an in-person meeting with your CTSW in Scarborough, please contact them. The Hub offers many great community resources, including programs for seniors, a Computer Lab with lessons, a Food Centre (for local residents only), a drop-in program for families with kids, and more. You can learn more at their website here, or by calling 416-292-6912, or just stop by at 1911 Kennedy Rd, unit 105.
Seniors Assistance Home Maintenance Program
If you are a senior or person living with a disability and need help with casual home maintenance (including your lawn, snow shoveling, and light housekeeping), you may be eligible for the Seniors Assistance Home Maintenance Program (SAHM) which is being offered by the organization Toronto Intergenerational Partnerships (TIGP). The SAHM offers low-cost help to seniors and people living with disabilities in specific Toronto neighbourhoods including the downtown east, and parts of Scarborough. TIGP is also looking for workers (including high school and college students). For more information about being a recipient or worker for the SAHM please contact kevin@tigp.org, or call 416-531-8447 ext 1. Please note that this program is not being offered directly by Circle – We are only helping to spread the word.
